Goyder Tourism Gets Boost

A joint project between the Regional Council of Goyder, the Mid North Regional Development Board, Goyder Tourism Working Party and Clare Valley Tourism Marketing has been initiated to identify and boost tourism activity in Goyder.   Three Community Meetings will be held across Goyder to ensure that members of all communities in the Region have the opportunity to obtain information about the project and to have input into the process.

The purpose of these meetings is to assess the tourism related activities available in the Goyder area based on current and future needs. A planning process will be used to identify opportunities and gaps and to explore ways of addressing these issues, including the potential of attracting funding for future development.  The Chief Executive Officer of the Mid North Regional Development Board said “These meetings provide an opportunity for the community and business representatives throughout the Goyder region.  We hope to use community input to identify infrastructure issues (eg roads, signage), future opportunities and any gaps in product and service availability.”

Meetings will be held in the following areas:
• Hallett/ Terowie – Hallett Town Hall supper room, Tuesday, 5th May, 2– 3.30pm
• Burra/ Booborowie/ Mt. Bryan – Burra Town Hall supper room, Tuesday, 5th May, 7– 8.30pm
• Robertstown/ Pt Pass/ Eudunda – Eudunda Town Hall, Wednesday, 6th May, 7– 8.30pm

The information gathered will be used to develop a Goyder Tourism Strategic Plan to act as a guide for future Tourism projects and to assist access to Federal and State Government project funding.
