South Australian Works Strategic Review
The State Government’s South Australia Works program is one of the key learning, training and employment programs in our State and has been highly successful in linking people with skills and jobs.
South Australia Works was introduced in January 2004. A Review of South Australia Works was initiated during 2009 to examine the program’s effectiveness and to identify new strategic directions within a changed economic and policy environment.
The Review found that the State Government has an important role to play in delivering labour market programs and proposed that the principal objective of South Australia Works should be to contribute to an increase in workforce participation of all those who face disadvantage in the labour market.
New directions will build on the strengths of South Australia Works while also responding to new opportunities.
