Economic Development

Tourism, Agriculture, Viticulture & Wine Production along with Retail Services are the key economic drivers for the mid north region. Growth is forecast for South Australia’s Pork and Poultry Meat processing industries and the mid north region is well placed to provide investment opportunities to meet the needs for increased production. 

The Board has a strong commitment to economic development with a focus on facilitating growth through working collaboratively with our two council partners to accelerate provision of appropriate infrastructure to support economic development in the region.

Issues such as the roll out off wireless broadband, increased access to power and water supply and a reprioritization and upgrade of the regions road transport networks are high on the Board’s agenda. 

The Board’s goal is to Pursue, attract and facilitate appropriate, sustainable and diverse economic development and our strategies to achieve this goal include:
1. Develop and implement a regional marketing strategy
2. Facilitate regional investment
3. Identify and promote economic development opportunities
4. Facilitate and support infrastructure development in the region
