"Developing Emerging Young and Other Entreprenuers in South Australia's Mid North"
This quarter of a million dollar project over two years will see business people in the Mid North and surrounding regions increase their skills and probability for success. This will stimulate fresh momentum of the economy in this region.
The Mid North Regional Development Board has been successful in gaining a grant to deliver training and mentoring to young and other entrepreneurs from the Commonwealth Government through AusIndustry. The Chair of the Board Kay Matthias has stated “This project will greatly enhance the skills of our local business people, especially in these difficult times with drought and water shortages”. She further stated “The Board has been working in partnership with Award winning local successful business, Rural Directions Pty Ltd to formulate and deliver this project across the region.”
The Board has also been successful in gaining support from adjoining Regional Development Boards, Barossa & Light, Yorke and Southern Flinders, which will see the training delivered in the wider Mid North Region from Port Pirie, Kadina, Clare, Balaklava through to Freeling.
David Heinjus of Rural Directions Pty Ltd stated “The training and mentoring will be commencing later this year with awareness sessions followed by customised short courses which will include individual business coaching and mentoring.” He also stated “A further component will be the formation of Enterprise Development Groups, which will consist of a network of like minded business people, who will also receive skills development and mentoring.”
“This is an Australian Government funded initiative under the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business”
